  Absolute garbage card shop for Pokemon. I’ve been to this store twice. The girl Eleanor doesn’t care about pokemon at all and you can tell they she gets annoyed when people ask about the cards in there. I’ve been here twice so far and the first time I purchased a 250$ Charizard. This time I was interested in a card she tells me “you know that’s above 100$” as if I can’t afford it. Then when I want to inspect the card she starts throwing a fit that only she can take it out of the top loader. Then when I do go to inspect it she won’t let me see it outside of the soft sleeve.   this place is super rad in terms of super knowledgeable about table top games. make sure you grab their discord invite on the wall so you can join weekly virtual game nights and see the latest events, deals, etc. to my thiccc baddies: its really narrow and tiiiiight to walk through, there are some decent folding chairs at tables but not much space to pull out if busy. dont be afraid to call and ask accommodation questions because the staff goes above and beyond. also looks like im getting into magic the gathering alongside my husband 🎮

  Genuinely one of the best hobby stores I have ever visited, and certainly the best combination of product stock and reliable and engaging staff I have seen in a long time. The Warhammer section is not only filled with floor to ceiling kits for nearly everything you could want including 40K, Age of Sigmar, and Horus Heresy, but the cabinet containing used models, including hard to find OOP stuff, is incredibly useful and something I have only seen at this store in the area.   This store was simply incredible. Absolutely insane stock of Magic, Warhammer, Pokemon, Model kits and more! Every time I thought I had seen everything the store had to offer, I noticed a new section. The store seems small from the outside, but you will not believe the amount of product available - certainly more than any other shop around here! If they happen to not have a Warhammer kit you are looking for, you can just ask and they will try to get it in and let you know when its available.   Dark Depths Games is an ultimate hobby shop. My hobby is painting miniatures. They have a huge selection of warhammer sets and all the fixins (paints, brushes, nippers, basing materials, etc.) There are a lot of other model kits as well like stuff from Bandai - Gundam and Starwars. They unfortunately did not carry either the Crisis Protocol Marvel stuff or the Starwars Legion/Shatterpoint stuff, but arguably not as popular as the games workshop stuff.   Dark Depths Games has been my main local game store since I moved to Philly a couple years ago. They have been extremely accommodating and welcoming to both me and my son. They consistently do what’s best for their customers and make a real effort to keep things fair and priced at MSRP. It’s a great community-focused store, and we always feel welcome there.

  Good store with great Pokemon cards but staff (specifically Eleanor) has been constantly rude/short to me and my partner. She has changed subjects to inappropriate conversations for a workplace, tells me to constantly write reviews singling her out (even if she was not the staff member helping with the transaction), as well as disrespectfully promoting other ventures of hers instead of doing her job. The rest of the staff is nice and their variety of singles/holding product at MSRP is amazing but I constantly leave drained.
